A combination of honey and cider vinegar is an old traditional remedy for colds and sore throats and with the addition of spices makes this a very palatable hot drink indeed.
HOW TO MAKE
- Peel and grate the ginger; use a the edge of a teaspoon. Place the ginger in a small pan with all the other ingredients (except the honey). Add 60ml (2 fl oz) water, bring to the boil and simmer gently for 10 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the honey until dissolved. Strain into a mug and drink while still warm, adding a lemon slice, if you like for additional vitamin C. Take three or four times a day to help relive cold or flu symptoms.
